Cranks is the realization of a long-standing dream for three cycling enthusiasts. For a long time, we have wanted to combine what we love most—cycling and food—and in the spring of 2023, we got the opportunity to make that happen. That’s when Cranks came into being.
Andreas Thomas-Strømsland is the chef in the kitchen. He has over 26 years of experience in the culinary field, both domestically and internationally. He has previously worked at To Rom og Kjøkken, was head chef at E.C. Dahls Pub og Kjøkken for 5 years, and was also in charge of banquets at Clarion Brattøra. He loves artisanal food and creating exciting new flavor combinations.
Egil Finserås is a generous, positive man with a sparkle in his eye. He has run a business and store for many years, and is used to taking charge of both large and small projects. He has solid experience in planning, initiating, and generally making things happen.
Stein Erik Stabell Hoel is a craftsman by trade and passionate about quality, both professionally and personally. On the bike, he’s happiest when the trails are steep and heading downhill. Around the house, he’s the ultimate handyman, fixing whatever can be fixed, and if it can’t be fixed, he either replaces it or builds something new!
In 2024, Olaaf Brentot joined the team and brought this Beach Bar touch to Cranks, directly inspired by the time he spent living in Tahiti, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. He is a former copywriter and executive creative director in many advertising agencies in Paris, France, but most of all he is a real food enthusiast, always eager to share tips and good recipes. And he is also the guy behind our social medias.
